Author Guidelines

Author Guidelines - Innovatio&Science Journal ISSN: 3085-5772

Article Categories

Authors may submit manuscripts in the following categories:

1. Original Articles:
   Detailed studies presenting original research findings. Must include an introduction, methodology, results, discussion, and conclusions.

2. Review Articles:
   Comprehensive reviews of existing literature, analyzing key issues and summarizing findings. Accepted types include:

   • Literature reviews
   • Systematic reviews
   • Meta-analyses

3. Clinical Case Studies:
   Reports on patient cases that significantly contribute to existing knowledge, including discussions on symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment.

4. Letters to the Editor:
   Brief discussions addressing issues, corrections, or opinions related to previously published works. Limited to 4 pages, with up to 10 references and one supplementary figure or table.

5. Guest Editorials:
   Reflections on recent events, innovations, or research gaps, proposing new directions for the field.

6. Short Communications
   A short communication is a brief report of research findings or other significant developments that are of broad interest to a community. Geralmente 4 pages and 2 figures/tables.

Manuscript Preparation

1. Title Page:
   Include the title, full names, and affiliations of all authors, as well as the corresponding author's contact information (email and phone).
2. Abstract:
   Summarize the study in 150–250 words without including references or undefined abbreviations.
3. Keywords:
   Provide up to 6 keywords for indexing purposes.
4. Text Formatting:
   Submit the manuscript in Word-compatible formats (.docx, .rtf).
   Use the provided template to prepare your manuscript.
5. Abbreviations:
   Define at first mention and use consistently throughout the text.
6. Figures and Tables:
   Submit high-quality images (minimum 300 dpi) in .png or .jpg formats, both embedded in the manuscript and as separate files.
   Include concise captions summarizing the findings. Number figures and tables sequentially.
7. Acknowledgments:
   Acknowledge contributions, funding sources, and grants.

Use of Artificial Intelligence

The Innovatio&Science Journal acknowledges that generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, such as language models or writing assistants, may be used by researchers to assist in manuscript preparation. However, by submitting their work, authors tacitly declare that:

1. AI does not replace scientific rigor:
   AI tools must complement, not replace, critical analysis, scientific interpretation, and original writing by the authors.

2. AI systems are not authors:
   AI systems cannot be considered authors of manuscripts. Authorship must be attributed exclusively to individuals who have intellectually contributed to the work.

3. Authors' responsibility:
   Authors publicly assume full responsibility for the manuscript's content, including data accuracy, integrity of conclusions, and originality of the presented text.

This policy reaffirms the journal’s commitment to ethics and scientific quality, ensuring publications reflect authentic human intellectual contributions.

References

• Use the Vancouver citation style, with sequential numbers in square brackets, such as [1], [2].
• Include only works cited in the text.

Examples:

1. Journal Article:

   • Format: Author(s). Title of the article. Abbreviated journal name. Year;Volume:Start-End page numbers.
   • Example:
     Hein DW. Molecular genetics and function of NAT1 and NAT2. Mutat Res. 2002;506:65-77.

2. Book:

   • Format: Author(s). Title of the book. Edition (if not the first). Place of publication: Publisher; Year.
   • Example:
     Hainfeld JF, Safer D, Wall JS. Methylamine vanadate (NanoVan) negative stain. San Francisco: San Francisco Press; 1994.

This format ensures that references align with international scientific publishing standards.

Supplementary Materials

• Raw data may be included through a permanent link.

Submission and Ethics

• Ensure all manuscripts are original and not under review elsewhere.
• Obtain permissions for any previously published material.
• Adhere to strict ethical research practices.

Editorial Fee Policy

To support the operational costs of the journal and ensure high-quality publication standards, an editorial fee is required for accepted manuscripts. The fee structure is as follows:

• Authors outside Latin America: $100 USD per manuscript.
• Brazilian authors or researchers from other Latin American countries: R$200 BRL or the equivalent in local currency.

The editorial fee must be paid only after the manuscript has been accepted for publication. This policy reflects our commitment to providing an affordable and accessible platform for scientific communication while maintaining rigorous publication standards.
